When I exported the previous version I did not realise the aspect ratio was not right and therefore I re-exported the trailer and cutting it down to end after the billing block. The sequence now fits to the designated size for films. However, when I exported there is an issue with the billing blocks image of the rating, but other than that the rest of the sequence is as it was previously.

Re-creation of the billing block, as the one previously created was no longer able to work on premier I have had to re-create this. It is currently almost there, the text needs re-aligning and some other adjustments.
This is what it looks like so far... The initial voice over that was going to be used was too quite to be used and so I have decided to not include the voice over. So I have decided to include extra titles to help explain what is going on.
I am creating the titles for the project in adobe after effects CS5.5. I have used a number countdown effect for this part of the teaser trailer as I felt that it was appropriate to include as when looking at 'There's Something About Mary' I found that they used a similar sort of effect for there so many years later and so I felt it appropriate to include a similar sort of effect in my own but develop it further by applying the effect to all of the letters as well to finally show 5 years later.
I have been going through what I have done for the trailer and all that I have left to do is some adjustments with the editing, adding the titles/ voice over and filming thew final shots to be used:
From that moment I knew I had to find her and so this is where my journey truly begins. I had planned to get these shots filmed last Friday but the actor I am using for the trailer has got an eye infection and would not have been appropriate to film the remaining shots. Therefore, if he is alright by Thursday I will be filming the last remaining footage needed for the trailer then.
As mentioned before these are the shots left to be filmed. Shots Left To Be Filmed: -Long shot/ mid shot walking down the path -Close up doorbell -Mid shot/ wide shot/ close up- bench them sat together -Any additional shots of them together -I have been undecided with the image being used during the sequence but at the point in the sequence where he is looking for her, it does make more sense to include the image. Therefore if I am still considering the image that will have to be done next week. -More footage of them together- walking and any other ways they can be shown together. I have also remembered another shot that I am intending to shoot, with the male actor with some people saying that he needs to find her. So this shot would be a mid shot of him saying this. I will also need to include the voice over done by the part of the male actor, but I will need to work on this before getting him to say what is required. ![]() I have noticed that the exposure to some of the footage is not good. For example the shot to the left, the footage is to bright, I can work round this by editing the brightness and contrast of the shot. ![]() I have decreased the brightness and increased the contrast, it has improved the shot but it could still be better. I have been having issues with Premiere not rendering, saving and being really slow. This is a big issue as I am filming later today and I need to see whether I need to re-film any of the shots previously taken.
I have decided to export the end of the trailer to see how it looks and if any adjustments are needed for this.
![]() While looking through and annotating the sequence I discovered this image above. I like the look of this image and I am considering to include a longer section of the writing being shown above while it shows different shots of the person writing. It is still clear what is happening behind the writing. I think this might work better than what I have got in the sequence shown above. After the male actor not showing up on Wednesday, I arranged with both of my actors to film first thing before we had lessons today. And this time they both turned up, so I have managed to film some of the footage required. There was an issue with the battery dying mid-way through filming and so I had to change the camera that I was using, this was not an issue but it did mean I had less time to film. I still have a thew more shots to film but that will done next week,
Also I had to re-film some of the shots that I had previously done due to the actor having a haircut, but other than that the filming did go to plan. There is an issue with the shot in which the girl looks at her phone after receiving a text from her boyfriend the lighting was insufficient and so the text is not able to be seen. This is not a vital shot to include but it does explain why the girl leaves. Again I have forgotten about the images needed for the ancillaries so will also need to be done during the next filming session. Due to my male actor being a no show I was unable to film the intended shots, however, I have still used the time well to get most of the shots that required just the female, even though this was not many shots to film as the intended plan is to have them together. This is a set back and so I will need to re-arrange to film the shots planned for today. There is still a lot that is needed to be done for the production stage of the coursework. I have had a brief look at the footage and it does look fine to use in the trailer.
I was also unable to get the pictures for the ancillaries taken due to needing both of them for this so, this is a bit of a set back as I can not do anything else with the ancillaries without the pictures. Therefore this is going to have to be done at another time. If I am unable to get the pictures I can just use an image from a piece of footage. That would be close enough to what I had intended to include for this. The shots that are required for the trailer are the following:
-Close up- picture -Long Shot- girl- walking on other side of street- listening to music. walking continuous shot -Mid Shot- girl walking- boy behind touch her shoulder- Says sorry- its the wrong person. - Long shot/ mid shot- walking down her path- will be done as a continuous shot. - Close up- rings the doorbell she answers- she says his name. - Long shot/ Mid shot- walking together in the streets/ Talking. -Long shot/ wide shot- sat on a bench -Close up- his hand touches hers- she flinches. -Long Shot- he is waiting and she comes round the corner. -Mid shot- waiting for her at normal place- re-do. -Long shot- she walks away about to open the letter. -Mid-shot- both lean in for a kiss however, they get interrupted by receiving a text- phone out of pocket. -Mid shot- meets at required destination. -Close up- hands her a rose and a letter -Mid shot- female looking up, after being given the rose -Close up- phone- text from boyfriend- he's back -Close up-opens the letter. -Close up- Guys face- looks around, picture held up, looks above the picture- possibly re-do the shot. -Long shot- Male runs after her- re-do -Long shot, over the shoulder- Boy says her name- she looks back? possibly There are a variety of different locations that I will need to film at but they are not that far away so it should be fine to film all the shots but priority shots are in the following- streets as this is the area in which I need the majority of shots taken from. I will be filming Wednesday at 11:50 with both of my actors. If I can film all the desired shots above and they are all able to be used, then I should not have that much more to film. Images- Poster: -Of the guy looking towards her. -Her with her boyfriend with his arm around her. With the girl looking back at the guy. The boyfriend will not be featured entirely as he is not going to be a main fixture of the trailer and so only his arm will be in the image. Front Cover Magazine- I am undecided as to what type of shot will be included, so I am going to try a variety of different shots. -mid shot/ close up- of either one of the main characters. -possibly both of them together. looking at each other. Actor has been sorted thanks to my teacher who had asked the drama department if any of them would be able to be an actor for me and so I have been able to film some of the desired shots for this week. However, I was unable to film all the sections I needed to as I did not have the props required and a lack of time as I had planned to film from 11:00 but due to Adobe Photoshop not working I needed to get the IT technicians to sort this, which has now been sorted and I am now able to use.
To see what the actor was like I decided to not do the shots that required a prop, so will be done another time. I have got his number so I can text him when needed. During today's filming I had used a different camera from normal, a Panasonic instead of a Canon 1100D camera. Over the weekend I had attempted to film some of the required shots but after transferring the footage to the FS05, most of the footage is not able to be used. Also, I had filmed with my male actor, and the shots could have been used but he has now broken his leg and I am now in need of a new actor as he would not be able to do some of the shots and I will also need to film the shots I had already done with him again. Which I am going to try and get sorted by the end of the day.
I have decided to include some basic titles to see how it would look with the footage I have so far. If the footage works with the title placement then I might change how I initially was going to have it. I will be changing the titles later on and I will probably use Adobe After Effects CS5.5 to make them more appropriate for the trailer using alternative effects instead of having them basic in Premiere.
Title colour is going to be significant to the genre and from looking at the trailers for research the majority use either white or a slight hint of red/ pink. I did not manage to film all of what I had planned to do last weekend so I will be doing these shots, this week as well as some re-do's of the shots and what I have planned to do this week.
I will also need to find the music that I will need to include in the trailer before doing any additional editing of the trailer. As you can see with the above intended shots I have not managed to get much done and is now causing some issues with the trailer as i have not got the shots needed I cannot do much to this.
I will be using a Canon 1100D SRL camera which will be borrowed from college. This camera is different to that of the one I used for AS. For the AS I used a Canon 550D SRL camera which is off better quality. The 1100 does not have as high quality as the 550 as the 550 can film in 1080p at 30 framers per second where as the 1100 can only film at 720p and at 25 frames per second providing lower quality footage. However, as the FS05 has limited space I cannot film in the higher resolution as it will consume to much space on the drive and the 1100 is adequate to use.
Over the weekend, I managed to get some of the intended footage taken but not everything due to the weather being bad so I could not film any of the shots that required to be outside and the battery died. Some of the footage is looking alright to use and so I can start editing. However, with some of the ones I have taken I am considering to re-do the shots with a dolly to go around the person as it might look better using this than what I have done already. Today, I have been going through the footage renaming to see whether they are alright to use, and some are going to need to be re-filmed as some are too dark to see what is going on and I think some of them would look better using additional equipment.. Adobe Premiere Pro CS5.5 created and footage has been uploaded and I am now starting the editing of the footage.
Today, I have created the Premier project and have decided to start on some of the post production for the trailer (titles, sound) before importing and editing the footage.
Over the weekend, I am planning to film some of the shots that are going to be used in the trailer. Intended shots to film:
Depending on how well the footage goes over the weekend I may need to re-do some which can be filmed Wednesday if I have enough time to do so. I also intend to film Wednesday next week which the shots are the following:
Shots left to film with the older versions of them if all goes to plan above will be done on during the following week:
(I might not include these, depends on how the rest of the footage goes) Shots needed with the younger versions, this would be filmed the following week:
I need to find a font that is relevant to the idea of a romantic comedy. From looking at fonts from the site below, I have found a few that would be appropriate to use.
http://www.fontspace.com/category/romantic?p=7 Titles to also include in the trailer: After reading the magazine from the library, I have decided to get the sound sorted before I edit the footage to make sure the footage flows with the beat of the music.
I will look at the sound later on today and upload onto premiere to get that started.
Length of ident- I should make this last about 2-3 seconds depending on if I use more than one ident which is usually the case for most films to have two idents in the trailer. This will be used in the trailer.
During half term I did get some practice shots of the sequence filmed which were fine but I am considering to take the shots from different camera angles to see what works better. Unfortunately I am not able to use the shots I took as I did not have one of the props so I had to improvise, also I could only film one of the actors. But what I did film is useful to see how it would look, whether the framing would work. After, doing some of the filming I have decided to edit the alternative shot list as I feel it would work better with the added adjustments. Therefore, I have decided to break down the shot list (as there are now more shots to incorporate into the sequence) when it would be possible to film the desired shots and when each of them are available to film. Shots with the two kids will be done after they finish school on a Friday. Ending done in one go. Beginning of alternative shots list, will require both actors and the weather will need to be dry. Male actors house- will have a run through on Friday this week. 3/11/14Today, I have decided to expand upon the shot list and where the titles will appear but also how it is going to be edited. Also creating the break down of the shot list. In order to film on Friday.
